Nexight Group is seeking an accounting professional that will be instrumental in the timely preparation of company financial results. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing and examining financial records and ensuring information is accurate. This work may require generating and processing accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and reports. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both independently and in close collaboration with others.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants should have the necessary skills to perform the following job responsibilities:

  • Billing/Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Perform reconciliation operations and assist with month end close
  • Continuous evaluation of current policies and recommendations for process improvements
  • Process semi-monthly payroll
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
  • Strong customer service to internal and external clients
  • Additional duties as required in support of operations
  • Thrives in a challenging and exciting, deadline-oriented environment while successfully managing multiple, simultaneous workstreams

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Nexight’s offices are in Silver Spring, MD. The position is open to in-person and hybrid candidates.

This is a primarily sedentary position in an environmentally controlled office setting, although moving between work areas may be required. Manipulating a computer keyboard or mouse and operating standard office equipment is typically required for this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Summary of Qualifications

Minimum

  • Associate degree in business or accounting plus 2 years of professional experience or 4+ years of professional accounting experience
  • Experience with HRMS\Payroll applications such as ADP or a similar ERP system
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively
  • Be able to respect highly confidential information and work in a confidential environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude, detail oriented and organized
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts and ability to create journal entries, reconciliations, and reports
  • An entrepreneurial, “roll up your sleeves” spirit that realizes value in all tasks, large and small, likes to learn by doing, and desires continuous improvement and innovation

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field
  • Experience in using Deltek Costpoint
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000 to $75,000.
