Job Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants should have the necessary skills to perform the following job responsibilities:
- Assist in engaging with subject matter experts from diverse backgrounds, including through interviews, meetings, and workshops, to gather informed and original opinions, clarify specific trends, reach consensus decisions, and creatively solve complex problems
- Assist in developing learning experiences (e.g., instructor-led training sessions (in-person and virtual), eLearning, webinars, etc.) to meet required learning needs
- Conduct research to identify, analyze, and synthesize best practices and findings in the field of education and workforce development
- Evaluate client needs through assessments and data analysis; provide well-informed recommendations and solutions tailored to specific requirements
- Collaborate closely with team members to complete project tasks in support of ongoing workforce development and education initiatives
- Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with clients. Understand their needs and preferences and provide exceptional service
- Assist in writing proposals, technical content, and presentations that effectively communicate research findings, project progress, and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders
- Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while successfully managing multiple, simultaneous workstreams

Working Conditions / Physical Demands
Work location will be Silver Spring, MD, but candidates who wish to work remotely and live outside the DC area are welcome to apply. For remote candidates, occasional work in Washington, D.C. or other U.S.-based locations may be required to support clients; applicants should expect to travel to Nexight’s offices at least once per quarter.
This is a primarily sedentary position in an environmentally controlled office setting, although moving between work areas may be required. Manipulating a computer keyboard or mouse and operating standard office equipment is typically required for this position. Summary of Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in education, teaching, public policy, organizational development, or related discipline
- At least one year of professional experience working in education or workforce development (can include classroom experience)
- Knowledge of the public K-20 and/or adult education systems in the United States
- Experience in scheduling and meeting coordination
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, that reflect strong critical thinking, analysis, and synthesis capabilities
- Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strict attention to detail with minimal oversight required
- An entrepreneurial, “roll up your sleeves” spirit that realizes value in all tasks, large and small, enjoys learning by doing, and desires continuous improvement and innovation
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
Preferred
- Education or professional experience specializing in STEM disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Previous professional experience designing workforce development or educational programs
- Previous professional experience in workforce or labor data analysis
- Previous experience supporting a federal government client or working for the federal government
- Experience conducting stakeholder consultations via interviews, focus groups, or facilitated workshops
- Experience driving diverse groups of stakeholders towards consensus on complex topics
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000 to $70,000.
